ANC, South African's democratically elected party, released a statement.

The statement discussed how the ANC does support Palestine and are against the killing of Palestinians. However, they did discuss the fact that they aren't condoning Hamas's use of bombs.

The eventual outcome of the article was that the South African ambassador in Tel Aviv must return home. Along with ambassador Lenk, of Israel, returning to his country. Although the ANC are going about this in a harsh manner, the transition so far has been smooth.

An exert from the statement depicts the ANC's support of Israel. The ANC also propose the outcome of a solution being put into place, stating that the two countries can co-exist alongside each other. The ANC clearly propose that the Israelis step down by their obvious strong condemnation of Israel's violent aggression

"As the ANC in Parliament, we stand unapologetically with the people of
Palestine and pro-Palestinian campaigners in an endeavour to exert

pressure on Israel’s government to comply with the UN Security Council

resolutions and stop its killings and gross persecution of Palestinian

people. We remain resolute in our view that the only long lasting

peaceful solution to the situation in the Middle East is the attainment

of a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine in which the two

states exist side by side independently and peacefully."

As a South African, it feels spectacular to be able to stand firm with our government. South Africa, unlike long-time liberated countries, understand what apartheid feels like. And although we are no longer in apartheid, the reactions as apposed to it is something that many South Africans can relate to.

I relate to the Palestinians because my country went through apartheid recently, I relate to the Palestinians because I practice the same religion as them and I relate to Palestinians because I am a human being that understands the privilege of being allowed the right to live and prosper. And for that- the citizens of my country being able to live and prosper, South Africa being able to stand up against broken UN resolutions and injustice- we are grateful.
